611 NEUTRAMAT surface activator
NEUTRAMAT is a highly effective solution of inorganic acids for the surface treatment of silicate-bonded substrates and metals. The reaction of NEUTRAMAT with the silicate components creates microscopically small pores, which increases the adhesive strength of a subsequent paint or coating system. The treated surfaces generally meet the requirements of wet slip resistance according to DIN 51130 and BGR 181 (formerly ZH1/571 – slip resistance class R9).
Precautions
Acid-sensitive materials react with NEUTRAMAT and must therefore be protected accordingly (e.g. glass, ceramics, porcelain, enamel, anodized, marble, limestone, metals, etc.) On surfaces that have previously been treated with impregnations, coatings or similar agents, irregular or discoloured surfaces may occur.
Treatment with NEUTRAMAT results in a loss of gloss and the colour intensity (optical depth effect) of the surface can decrease. The porosity of the surface is also increased and thus also the sensitivity to dirt.
A basic cleaning is therefore often necessary. In order to prevent contamination of the microscopic pores, at least every 20 brushes should be cleaned with PUROL active cleaner concentrate. If there is a lot of dirt, this cleaning should be carried out more frequently in order to maintain the anti-slip properties. The effectiveness of the anti-slip properties of NEUTRAMAT should be tested with a suitable measuring device (e.g. Floor Slide Control FSC 2000 print) before and after the treatment of the surfaces.
